Late NYPD Detective Luis Alvarez will be honored with key to the city

A key to New York City will be posthumously awarded to Luis Alvarez, the retired NYPD Bomb Squad detective who powerfully urged Congress not to forget those sickened from their work after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Detective Alvarez died at 53 after a long struggle with World Trade Center-related cancer, reports Julia Marsh for the NY Post.
