Dozens of sick rescue and recovery workers are lobbying Congress to pass the “Never Forget the Heroes: Permanent Authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act.” Without the passage of this bill, the Victim Compensation Fund that supports those recovery workers, survivors and lower Manhattan workers who have become sick from the toxins at the site of the former World Trade Center will run out of funds next year, as the number of the sick grows.
The sick have been forced to lobby to refund the Victim Compensation Fund twice before, in 2010 and in 2015.
On June 11, 201, a number of sick recovery workers will testify before a House Judiciary Committee, reports Evan Koslof for WUSA9.
