A new memorial glade is being built at the National 9/11 Memorial to honor the rescue and recovery workers, Lower Manhattan residents, survivors, and students who suffer from or who have died from World Trade Center-related illnesses.
The memorial is said to be a pathway leading through six stone sculptures meant to symbolize strength. No names will be included.
Work should be finished by May 30, 2019, the seventeenth anniversary of the ceremony marking the end of the recovery work at the site, writes Melissa Klein for the NY Post.
