Rogers Stadium’s new track and field will honor Lt. Jonas Martin Panik, USN

Bellefonte Area High School will name its athletic field for Lt. Jonas Martin Panik, USN, a 1993 graduate of the school who was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 while working at the Pentagon, reports Chris Morelli for the The Express.

According to the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial, Panik, who graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1997, was “an outstanding intelligence professional, a true shipmate, a great friend and a devoted and loving uncle, brother, son and husband.”

Jonas’ father, Martin Panik, told reporters,“Jonas would be very proud.”
