What would police do if a gunman opened fire in NYC? Realistic training shows the reaction

PIX11 News was invited to a recent session of Port Authority Police Department active shooter interception training. Officers from the PAPD, NYPD, Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, Northvale, and Paramus joined together to train together.

Much of the training involves first aid and lifesaving measures.

“Thank goodness it’s not just guns and knives,” instructor Mike McCabe told reporter James Ford PIX Channel 11. “It’s about everyday injuries that we see.”

Asst. Chief Steven Rotolo told the News that “Every time we train, they’re getting better and better.”
