World Trade Center survivor Bettye Glenn raises flags in memory of 9/11 victims

When Bettye Glenn retired from the Port Authority of NY & NJ, she received a gift from her coworkers – two flags – an American flag and a World Trade Center flag that had been flown over the ruins of the World Trade Center.

She worked at the World Trade Center for years and was on the 43rd floor when American Flight 11 was flown into her tower by terrorists. She lost 75 co-workers, including Eddie Strauss, who she saw on the stairs.

She retired in 2005 and moved to Fayetteville, where she asked the local firefighters fly her flags every September 11th, reports Paul Woolverton for The Fayetteville Observer. They fly every year.
