Huntington Station street renamed to honor 9/11 hero, Scott Blackshaw, NYPD

A block of Huntington Station’s Valleywood Drive has been renamed for NYPD Officer Scott Blackshaw, a 20-year NYPD veteran who worked at the site of the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

Friends and family of Officer Blackshaw were in attendance as the new street sign reading, “NYPD Officer Scott Blackshaw Way” was unveiled to remember his courage and sacrifice.

Officer Blackshaw died of World Trade Center-related cancer on May 20, 2018, reports Long Island News 12.
