Ex-Port Authority detective says he predicted WTC was terrorist target a decade before 9/11

Retired Detective Matthew Besheer of the Port Authority Police Department Intelligence Unit told Nightline, “In 1991 leading into 1992, I was asked by the commanding officer of the World Trade Center to do a vulnerability study. My report that I submitted was that the building was vulnerable to attack in the parking garages.”

That prediction came true on February 26, 1993, when terrorists bombed the Trade Center from the underground garage, report Marjorie McAfee and Alexa Valiente of ABC News.

Besheer is one of the people who suspected terrorists were targeting the World Trade Center who are profiled in the History Channel’s new documentary, Road to 9/11, a three-part film of events leading up to the attacks of September 11, 2001.
