The sculptor of the Pembroke Pines 9/11 Memorial in Florida plans to add the figure of an NYPD K-9 officer to the other sculptures at the memorial. Currently, the memorial consists of four huge steel statues, a firefighter, the towers themselves and a young girl symbolizing humanity and innocence, reports Susannah Bryan in the Sun Sentinel.
It took Felix Gonzalez five years to make the first four statues. He says sculpting the officer and his dog will probably take two more years.
