The St. Louis Fire Department is investigating one of its paramedics, who may have lied about his helping the injured during the Boston Marathon bombing of 2013, report Eric Rasmussen and Erin Smith of the Boston Globe.
Shawn Daniel says he ran towards the site of the bombs to help the injured. At the time he was working for American Medical Response, a private ambulance company. Matthew Miner, Daniel’s then-supervisor, says none of their ambulances or personnel responded to the bombing. Miner further said that on the day of the bombing, Paramedic Daniel was assigned to a transport van in a NH town more than 70 miles from Boston.
The investigation continues. Shawn Daniels could not be found for comment.
