The Pentagon is funding a new study with servicemembers with PTSD to determine whether a new treatment is as effective as it so far seems to be.
A treatment called stellate ganglion block — a simple injection of local anesthetic near a nerve center in the neck — has helped some patients achieve lasting results, reports Jennifer H. Svan in Stars and Stripes.
The study should be completed by November 2017.
