A metal sculpture containing a piece of World Trade Center steel entitled, Rising, Alamance County’s September 11th memorial, has been moved to the lobby of Elon’s Municipal Building.
The new memorial was unveiled on September 11, 2016 at the Swepsonville Fire Department, and is now touring the county, staying in each of its locations for around a month. Rising will ultimately be a permanent fixture in the rotunda of the Graham Courthouse, reports The Times-News.
Rising will remain in Elon through November and it may be seen between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
