The man who returned the flag raised by firefighters over the ruins of the World Trade Center has come forward. His name is Brian Browne, and the collector of military memorabilia says he didn’t know what flag he had until he watched a TV documentary about the missing flag in 2014, reports Reuven Blau of the New York Daily News.
Browne was given the flag from a friend. He understood that the friend got the flag from the wife of a former NYC employee.
