A California campus flag display with one American flag for each victim of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 was destroyed by vandals at about 1:00am on the fifteenth anniversary of the attacks reported Cleve R. Wootson, Jr. in the Washington Post.
Flags were broken and thrown in nearby rubbish bins.
Volunteers from Occidental College’s Republican Club restored the flags and stood guard over them. Vandals returned and broke several more flags and ran away.
An investigation is taking place.
