John Wholihan was already retired from the FDNY when terrorists attacks on September 11, 2001, but went to work. He jumped aboard the Staten Island Ferry and went to the site of the World Trade Center.
He lost 100 friends in the attacks.
Now living in Florida, Wholihan spoke to Paul Liotta of the Staten Island Advance.
