Family member Michael Burke – Patriotism was banned from the 9/11 Memorial a long time ago

Michael Burke, who lost his brother, Captain William F. Burke, FDNY, in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, writes in the April 29, 2016  NY Post about the informal choir of middle-school children from North Carolina who were stopped by 9/11 Memorial guards from singing the national anthem.

‘“The guard did not respond appropriately,” a memorial spokeswoman later admitted. “We are working with our security staff to ensure that this does not happen again with future student performances.”

Nonsense. The guards acted entirely appropriately, as per the memorial design. The memorial was chosen specifically because it remakes the site so it doesn’t acknowledge — that is, so it denies — the attacks upon America.’
