MBTA Transit Police Officer Richard “Dic” Donohue, 36, was shot in the gunfight that killed Boston Marathon terrorist Tamerlan Tsarnaev, nearly bleeding to death from his injuries. He returned to the police force in May 2015.
Now, however, fighting chronic pain from his injuries, he has announced his retirement to speak and teach on law enforcement subjects, writes Evan Allen in the Boston Globe. Among other engagements, Donohue will teach criminal justice at Fisher College. He is also expecting his second child.
