Exhibits in the new visitor center at the Flight 93 Memorial include a timeline of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001; recordings of air phone calls made by crew members and passengers aboard Flight 93; photographs of the 40 passengers and crew who fought the terrorists aboard Flight 93; and touchscreens displaying individual stories for each of the 40.
A new learning center is also open for students.
Vicki Rock writes in the Daily American on February 23, 2016, “National Park Service Superintendent Stephen Clark said the visitor center and learning center were long anticipated.
‘I think people were looking forward to the facilities,’ he said. ‘We’re really excited. We’re taking steps to enhance staffing.’ “
