At forum, Cresskill gathers input for September 11 monument

On January 21, 2016, Marc Lightdale writes in the Northern Valley Suburbanite about a January 13, 2016 meeting in Cresskill about building a local memorial to the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Cresskill has a steel girder from the World Trade Center and hopes to dedicate their memorial this September 11, on the 15th anniversary of the attacks.

A Cresskill resident, NYPD Sergeant John Coughlin, was killed during the attacks and another resident, Port Authority Police Officer John Cortazzo, died in 2009 at the age of 48 after becoming ill from toxins he was exposed to during the recovery effort.

70 people attended the meeting.
