ALBANY — The National September 11 Memorial & Museum in lower Manhattan is about to get a break on its water bill.
Gov. Cuomo is expected to sign legislation Friday that would make the memorial and museum eligible for the same reduced water rates charged to hospitals and other nonprofits.
The bill was introduced by Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver (D-Manhattan) and had the backing of Mayor de Blasio. It was passed by the Legislature in June. “This law helps relieve some of the 9/11 Museum’s financial burden so it can focus on its core mission of honoring those who were affected by this terrible tragedy,” said Silver.
