The victims of the first attack on the World Trade Center were remembered Wednesday during a memorial ceremony at the site.
The event marked the 21st anniversary of the 1993 bombing that killed six people and injured more than a thousand others.
Held at the 9/11 Memorial fountain, the service opened with the Port Authority Pipes and Drums.
Following a moment of silence, the names of those who died will be read aloud by one their family members.
“I was 18. I remember I was in college right across the river at Stevens and I could see all the helicopters and smoke,” said Steven Knapp, whose father was killed in the attacks.
“She was a very happy girl, very enthusiastic, very… She loved life. She was a very happy woman. Couldn’t wait to have a child. Didn’t happen,” said Ernie Rodriguez, whose sister was killed in the attacks.
Six people were convicted of setting off a truck bomb inside a parking garage underneath the towers.
One of the bombers, Ramzi Yousef, is the nephew of self-proclaimed September 11th mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
