Rupa Bhattacharyya has been named as the new special master of the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund. She is an attorney with the US Department of Justice, writes Susan Edelman in the NY Post.
“[The payments are] a debt the American people owe, and I’m glad to be part of the program that pays that debt,” she said to the New York Post.
Many sick recovery workers have died of their illnesses while waiting for funds. Many more are falling ill every day.
