After multiple delays, the artificial turf on the 9/11 Memorial Field is restored, reports Jonathan Phelps of the MetroWest Daily News. The field, which lies on a roughly 15-acre plot by the Acre Bridge Road, had 15 years of hard usage, as it is critically needed for the town’s youth sports. Drainage problems were found over the course of the work.
9/11 Memorial Field reopened on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, on schedule. The name comes from the 206 people from Massachusetts who were killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
