Widow of fallen FDNY Chief Michael Fahy asks to donate funds raised by Stephen Siller Foundation to needy veterans

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation last week announced a fundraising campaign to raise money to pay off the mortgage of the home of the Fahy family, after FDNY Deputy Chief Michael Fahy was killed last month in the line of duty.

When it was her turn to speak, Fiona Fahy thanked the foundation but said her husband would have wanted the money to go to needy veterans instead, reported Ellen Moynihan and Ginger Adams Otis in the NY Daily News.

Just days before his death Michael Fahy had watched For the Love of Our Brother, a documentary on the Siller Foundation, and he and his wife decided to make supporting the foundation a family project.
