Purple Heart recipient walks into newly renovated home courtesy of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation

Corporal Mark O’Brien lost a leg and an arm while serving in Iraq with the United States Marine Corps. The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation has renovated his home in East Aurora, NY to accommodate his injuries, reports Mike Baggerman for WBEN.

The siblings, widow and children of FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller started the foundation in his honor after he ran off-duty through a tunnel linking Brooklyn to Manhattan, laden with gear to respond to the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, where he was killed.

O’Brien’s new house is run electronically, so he can manage everyday tasks with much more ease.

You can watch a video of the O’Briens in their new home here.
