Photo of Postcards Memorial at the height of Hurricane Sandy and today

On this second anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, see a “then and now” interactive photograph of the Postcards Memorial, shown at the height of the storm and now, by clicking here. A number of pictures of Staten Island during and after the storm are displayed within the link.

Postcards honors the 274 Staten Island victims of the terrorist attacks of 2001 with two large “postcards to heaven” that also look like angel wings. Between the “postcards” are silhouettes and the names of those people with close ties to Staten Island who were murdered on September 11, 2001.
