Luis Palermo Jr., Nassau police officer on 9/11, dies

Luis A. Palermo Jr., a decorated Nassau County police officer who worked during the recovery efforts after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, died on September 4, 2017 of World Trade Center-related cancer at the age of 49, reports Michael O’Keeffe of Newsday. Palermo was diagnosed with cancer about five years ago.

Palermo is survived by his wife and three children.
