Last year, Stephanie Galvani of Natick ran the Boston Marathon and raised more than $6,000 to support the Newton 9/11 Memorial Fund. This year her cousin, Brad Hauert, of Denver, Colo., also ran the Marathon and has so far raised $5,000 for the Memorial Fund.

Stephanie is married to Jeff Gonski, who was the fiancé of Amy Toyen, a Newton resident who was killed on September 11, 2001 and whose name is enshrined on the Newton 9/11 Memorial with seven other Newton victims of that day.

The Newton 9/11 Memorial Fund supports the Newton 9/11 Memorial in Newton Centre, which is privately funded and maintained by a citizens’ committee chaired by Sande Young.
