Auxiliary officer who got cancer after responding as a civilian to Ground Zero honored at NYPD gay pride event

NYPD Auxiliary Police Officer Michael Dorian was awarded the Medal for Valor from the Gay Officers Action League (GOAL) at the NYPD’s Pride Celebration this week, reports John Annese in the Daily News.

Auxiliary Officer Dorian now suffers from stage 4 skin cancer from his service at the World Trade Center site after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
