9/11 children: scientists find toxins in their baby teeth

A pilot study made by doctors at Mount Sinai Hospital has found abnormal levels of lead and tin in the baby teeth of children living near the World Trade Center at the time of the terrorist attacks, reports Leah McGrath Goodman in Newsweek. These neurotoxins can affect the entire nervous system in a frightening variety of ways.

Scientists hope to continue studying these children and others exposed to the dust, smoke and atmosphere of the site.
