Maine’s former poet laureate says Judaism influenced his work more after his brother, Howard Kestenbaum, died on 9/11

Maine’s former poet laureate Stuart Kestenbaum found that his poetry changed after the death of his brother Howard Kestenbaum in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, reports Judy Harrison of the Bangor Daily News.

He will read from his work and discuss the Jewish influences it contains on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 7:00pm at the University of Maine. Those who would like to attend the program on Zoom can email derek.a.michaud@maine.edu.
