In a press release from Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada, the Honourable Ralph Goodale, Canada’s Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, announced two new initiatives to comply with the Christchurch Call to Action and to address extremist and terrorist content online. 1) Canada will collaborate with major tech companies in establishing a Youth Summit on Countering Violent Extremism Online; and 2) the Government of Canada will commit up to $1 million to Tech Against Terrorism to create a digital repository to notify small companies when new terrorist content is detected, and support them in quickly removing it.
