Staff Verona-Cedar Grove Times
The Verona September 11 Committee announced the recipients of its 2013 scholarships, which were presented at the June 12 Senior Awards Assembly. The scholarships were established to honor the memory of Verona residents Billy Erwin and Steve Roach, who perished in the World Trade Center during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Recipient of the 2013 William J. Erwin Scholarship was Luke Sniatkowski.
Brianna Da Rin was the recipient of the Stephen L. Roach Scholarship.
In order to be considered, the 2013 Verona High School graduates were required to submit an essay regarding the immediate and long-term effects of 9/11.
