Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. FDNY Captain Howard Venetsky (ret.) of Ladder 111 has died of 9/11-related cancer. The 23-year veteran of the FDNY responded to many historic fires in his career. He has been ill for four years.
