9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Wake for FF Daniel Heglund (ret.)

FF Daniel Heglund was born on September 23, 1955. He died of World Trade Center-related esophageal cancer on Monday, September 22, 2014. Two other FDNY members died of site-related cancers that same day.
His wake will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Branch Funeral Home in Miller Place, NY.
The funeral will take place on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11:00am at the Centerport Fire Department.
FF Heglund will be buried at Northport Rural Cemetery.
