9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Funeral for retired NYPD Police Officer Nicholas Purpero

Retired NYPD Police Officer Nicholas Purpero died of World Trade Center-related cancer on February 20, 2021, at the age of 48. He was an NYPD officer for 26 years, and had only recently retired.
His funeral Mass will be said at 9:30am at Holy Rosary Church in Staten Island on Friday, February 26, 2021. A private cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Addeo Hospice in memory of Nicholas would be greatly appreciated by his family.
