9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Funeral for Detective Ronald Richards, NYPD (ret.)

Detective Ronald Richards, who retired from the NYPD’s elite ESU and the Bomb Squad, died on October 10, 2015 of World Trade Center-related multiple myeloma. He was 45.
Detective Richards, a seventeen-year veteran of the NYPD was assigned to the Bomb Squad on September 11, 2001 and responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and worked for months on the recovery effort.
Married and the father of four daughters, Detective Richards retired due to his illness in 2007.
His funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 9:45am at St. Clare’s Church in Staten Island. His burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
