9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Ambelas Children’s Education Fund Oktoberfest Fundraiser

The Ambelas Children’s Education Fund will host an Oktoberfest fundraiser on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Staten Island’s Hillside Swim Club. The fun begins at 12:00pm and runs all afternoon.
Planned events include live music, a DJ, a Chinese auction, a 50/50, pumpkin painting, a bouncy house, a dunk tank and children’s rides. A BBQ lunch, beer, wine and soft drinks are included with the admission price.
Admission is $40.00 for adults; $20.00 for teens 14-20; under 14s will be admitted free.
Lt. Gordon Matthew “Matt” Ambelas was killed in the line of duty in a high-rise fire on July 5, 2014. He was 40 years old and a 14-year veteran of the FDNY. He left his wife and two daughters, Gabriella, 8, and Giovanna, 5.
Funds raised will go to an education fund for Matt’s girls.
