Westchester County 9/11 Serve + Remember volunteer campaign
September 8, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Westchester County and Volunteer New York have joined forces to make a difference in honor of the people killed in the terrorist attacks of 9/11 with their 9/11 Serve + Remember campaign.
Their 9/11 Serve + Remember campaign will provide volunteer opportunities on Saturday, September 8, 2018, Sunday, September 9, 2018 and Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
Donation drives are also being held for those unable to volunteer on those days.
Some of the volunteer opportunities include donating blood; making sandwiches; singing with senior citizens; building a bridge; creating cards for deployed troops; turning old t-shirts into dog toys for shelter dogs; packing diapers; making blankets for hospitalized children; and more.
To participate, volunteers must register or call 914-948-4452 for more information.
A full list of volunteer opportunities and donation drives all over Westchester County for Saturday, September 8, 2018, Sunday, September 9, 2018 and Tuesday, September 11, 2018 can be found here.
Many of the volunteer opportunities are family-friendly, and all of them will support local non-profits and causes that need helpers throughout the year. Thirty-five local non-profits are involved in the project.
