Welcoming the Stranger: a “Come from Away” 9/11 story with Kevin Tuerff

September 5, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Kevin Tuerff will speak and sign copies of his book on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 7:00pm at St. John the Divine in Manhattan.

Come from Away, the hit Broadway musical, tells the true story about the small town in Newfoundland who welcomed thousands of stranded strangers from 90 countries when airspace was closed because of the terrorist attacks of  September 11, 2001.

Kevin Tuerff was there. In his memoir, Channel of Peace: Stranded in Gander on 9/11, Kevin tells the story of how Gander’s compassion, then and now, has ignited a spirit of kindness that renewed his spirituality and has inspired a new tradition of an annual “giving back” day at Kevin’s company that has since spread.

In this conversation, “Kevin T,” as he was portrayed in the musical, dives into how this experience touched his life.

Books will be available for purchase and signing by the author.
