Webinar: “Terrorism vs. Hate Crimes”
August 25, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness will present a webinar titled Terrorism vs. Hate Crimes on Thursday, August 25, 2016, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.
In the post-9/11 era, terrorism generally became synonymous with global jihadism, while threats posed by domestic extremists are usually labeled as hate crimes. Labels and misperceptions fail to see the broader connections between radicalization and hatred.
In this webinar Kristina Rodriguez, intelligence analyst at the NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, will speak about the different misconceptions about the two and how terrorism and hate crimes are perceived differently.
