9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Wake for Retired NYPD Sergeant James P. Bast

Retired NYPD Sergeant James P. Bast died of World Trade Center-related melanoma on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. He was 49, and leaves a wife and three children.
He served with the NYPD for more than 23 years, retiring as Sergeant Special Assignment. He responded to the World Trade Center during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
His wake will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 7:00pm-9:30pm and again on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 2:00pm-4:30pm and again from 7:00pm-9:30pm at the Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home’s West Sayville branch.
His funeral Mass will be said on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 9:45am at St. John Nepomucene RC Church in Bohemia.
Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
