Wake for Retired NYPD Detective Luis Alvarez

Retired NYPD Detective Luis Alvarez died of World Trade Center-related cancer on June 29, 2019, three weeks after testifying before Congress on behalf of all those sickened from the site.
His wake will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 1:00pm-4:00pm and from 6:00pm-9:00pm at the Towers Funeral Home in Oceanside, NY.
His funeral Mass will take place at Astoria’s Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 3, 2019.
The NYPD suggests an 0830 arrival for the line-up.
In lieu of flowers, the Alvarez family requests that donations in the name of Detective Luis Alvarez be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; Kids Need More; or the FealGood Foundation.
