9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Wake for retired NYPD Detective Jeffrey Montenegro

Retired NYPD Detective Jeffrey Montenegro died of World Trade Center-related cancer on December 3, 2021. He retired from the NYPD in 2014 after 20 years. He was 53. His sister Lillian is also with the NYPD.
The wake will be held at the Pelham Funeral Home in Pelham, NY on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and again on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
Detective Montenegro’s Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Claire of Assisi Church in the Bronx on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10:00am.
A private burial will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx.
