Wake for retired FDNY FF William Francis Thompson, E-37/L-40

Retired FDNY Firefighter William Francis Thompson, also known as BT or Willie T, died of World Trade Center-related illness on October 21, 2022. He was 51. He joined the FDNY on May 9, 1999 and retired out of E-37/L-40 on November 30, 2010. BT responded to the World Trade Center during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
His wake will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home in Vernon, NJ
His funeral Mass will take place on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 11:00am at Saint Francis de Sales RC Church in Vernon, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in FF Thompson’s name may be made to the New York Firefighters’ Burn Center Foundation, 21 Asch Loop, Bronx, NY 10475.
