9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Wake for retired FDNY Firefighter John “Jack” Boyle, Rescue 1

Retired FDNY Firefighter John “Jack” Boyle of Rescue 1 died of World Trade Center-related illness on August 24, 2019. He was a 30-year decorated veteran of the FDNY who worked during the recovery efforts after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He was also a United States Army veteran with the 82nd Airborne Paratroopers Division.
His wake will be held at the Papavero Funeral Home in Maspeth on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, from 2:00pm-5:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm.
His funeral Mass will be said on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 10:45am at Our Lady of Hope Church in Middle Village.
Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Middle Village.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
