FDNY Captain Howard Venetsky (ret.) of Ladder 111 has died of 9/11-related cancer.
The 23-year veteran of the FDNY responded to many historic fires in his career. He has been ill for four years.
His wake will be held at the Scarpaci Funeral Home in Brooklyn on Thursday, May 2, 2019, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and from 7:00pm until 9:00pm.
His funeral Mass will be said on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Brooklyn.
Burial in Green-Wood Cemetery will follow.
