Wake for Raymond Plakstis, Jr., Great Neck Alert Fire Dep’t

Raymond Plakstis, Jr., 57, of Great Neck, NY has died of World Trade Center-related illness.
He served with Great Neck’s Alert Fire Department since 1985 and spent days at the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks of 2001. He also helped to establish a memorial to the victims on the Saddle Rock Bridge and maintained the memorial personally for years.
His visitation will be held at the Alert Fire Department on Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm-9:00pm with a Firematic service at 8:00pm.
His funeral Mass will be held at St. Aloysius Church at 10:00am on Friday, December 7, 2018. He will be buried at Holy Rood Cemetery.
