9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Wake for FDNY Captain, U.S. Marine and 9/11 family member John T. Vigiano, Sr.

FDNY Captain and U.S. Marine John T. Vigiano, Sr. died of cancer on July 7, 2018. He was 79. Both his sons, FF John T. Vigiano II and NYPD Detective Joseph V. Vigiano, were killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Captain Vigiano was a highly decorated member of the FDNY with 36 years of service, and one of the most beloved members of the September 11th community. His work with wounded veterans was unparalleled.
His wake will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at the Mangano Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY.
Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 9:15am until 10:00am. The Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:15am on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church in Deer Park.
Captain Vigiano will be buried at Saint Charles Cemetery in East Farmingdale.
In lieu of flowers, the Vigiano family requests donations in John’s name to the Gary Sinise Foundation.
