9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Wake for Charles E. Kaczorowski, NYC DDC

Charles E. Kaczorowski, better known as “Charlie K,” died of World Trade Center-related illness on March 22, 2022.

He escaped death in the towers during the attacks of September 11th by a delayed subway. He worked the entire recovery effort with New York City’s Department of Design and Construction, the agency that oversaw the recovery.

A Vietnam veteran, Charlie suffered from exposure to Agent Orange before being exposed to World Trade Center toxins.

The wake will be held at the Barnes-Sorrentino Funeral Home in West Hempstead, NY on Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.

His ​funeral Mass will be said at 10:00am on Monday, March 28, 2022 at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in West Hempstead.

Burial will follow the funeral at Calverton National Cemetery, in Calverton, NY.
